Personal statement
As part of the Research Data Management & Sharing (RDMS) team, I am responsible for supporting researchers (staff and postgraduate research students) to help them understand how they can collect, store and share research data in a secure, efficient and effective way - which complies with relevant funder, publisher and institutional expectations.
I provide support by informing researchers of the relevant policies and data management technologies available to them. I work with researchers and departments to create/implement data management plans (DMP). These plans provide researchers (and their collaborators) with a framework which helps organise how data is managed over the course of a research project.
Strathclyde is a vibrant and innovative university; the research being generated within is of great value to public life, health, welfare and society. The RDMS team, along with our colleagues in RKES and ISD Library have a pivotal role in supporting the security and upkeep of the University’s valuable research data. Please feel free to contact me if you would like more information about funder mandates/expectations; data management plans; secure storage options, e.g. Strathcloud; data curation or any other research data management & sharing matters.
